so, i think ian and i have finally figured out a plan for africa. it was sort of the big question mark of our trip and we took a few minutes this weekend to talk about it and read about it and make some sense of some of our ideas.

the original places we had thought about going turned out to be in rainy season at the time we would be there. so we looked around to see if there were places where our timing would be more ideal. turns out that there are - and they are definitely places on our list.

so, it's looking like we'll hit west africa. maybe morocco and i think definitely senegal and ghana. maybe mali? we have friends who have spent time in senegal and ghana and one who may even still have a senegalese apartment we can use while there! then we might head a bit north and inland to see the sahara. finally we'll get ourselves down to south africa (fly? train?) and hang out there a bit before flying straight across to perth. it's perfect!

sooooo who knows something about those parts of africa that you'd like to share with us? places to go? places to not go? etc and otherwise?
